The describe the outputs without knowing the inputs. Since phrazle ELO wasn't created for games with several competitors, much alone cooperative ones, I doubt any further information will ever be made public.

Each cooperative game does differently. For some of them it's always +1 regardless of the outcome.

In this particular Pandemic case (https://boardgamearena.com/table?table=404694066), you can see the Elo changes with 2 decimal places (but not the K factors) when hovering:

andvo1: +27.61
dizzymisslizzy17: +9.2
Ayoman: +9.2
hhee1107: +9.2

It's clear that 3 players gained the same, and the 4th gained exactly (allowing for rounding) 3 times more, which is consistent with a standard K factor of 20 and the 4th player having K=60 in their first few games. Nothing wrong here.

This made me laugh. I definitely think having some sort of ranking is helpful to identify beginners from experienced players, but you're right that the actual ELO is worthless. However, some players take it VERY seriously.

Having a high ELO actually keeps me from joining games at lower difficulty with newer players because I know they'll earn far less ELO. I'd be happy to help players learn, but want them to get credit for their games.

Thanks for explaining. I didn't have the chance to look into it - just thought it looked weird at the end of the game.
