Moderators are not there to assess false reports all the time. If you have a history of making false reports, sure you will be limited. That might mean you are treated truely unfair at some point and you can't report, but that's just a consequence of you treating moderators unfair and wasting their time. It's part of the penalty.

Also, your last post has nothing to do with your previous post where you talked about red thumbs. When you jump between topics so quickly, it's hard to discuss with you and you may look disrespectful. Try to acknowledge when someone gives you a genuine answer and not jump right away to the next point.

Firstly I disrespected no one. I also didn’t “jump between topics” but there is no penalty in doing that either. My last two comments are directly related to the sites policy of making you give 5 green thumbs in order to public red thumb someone.

As you can see by the op and many others who have posted on this site there is an extreme problem with foul play specifically in hanabi. I have personally been insulted while being cheated on several occasions. I faced a string of these games a few days ago. If I encounter 4 naughty hanabi players I now need 20 green thumbs to report them. There should also be a visible counter if there isn’t one already because I randomly gave 5 ppl I recently played w/ green thumbs so that I could at least report one of these people. And the system still told me I didn’t have enough green thumbs to file a report.

If the site truly cared about reporting offenses and this is what they act like they are encouraging then they shouldn’t make it hard to do so.

There are also ways to be extremely negative towards another player that aren’t reportable. If you are not a hanabi player I will play explain the process. First, if your p doesn’t like a move they will take to the comment section to post ????????????. Then they will proceed to leave anywhere from 2-5 more comments that suggest how horrible your gameplay is w/ no positive feedback. Then comes the concede button and them trying to force you to quit (sometimes these two actions are in reverse). Once you don’t accept they then start losing the game on purpose.

Mind you a case could be made that ending a game early that you already lost is acceptable. In my cases I play w/ flams so the game is never lost until the end.

Unless they use colorful language in the process cheating, trying to force you to quit, and leaving multiple messages about how bad of a player you are from 1 play I believe cannot be reported. But if you express that their behavior is negatively effecting you by telling them it is problematic or telling them they are behaving like a sore loser now you will be moderated instead of them.

I play lots of cooperative games - Paint the Roses, Crew, Pandemic and Decrypto. While there are probably nicer ways to ask why you made a certain move, this isn't an insult. If you perceive it as an insult, I can see you'd get frustrated a lot in these games.

If they're using insulting language, you can ask them to stop or warn that you'll report them if they don't stop. But you can't use insults when you do that or you will also get punished if you report them. But simply stating that you'd like to move on and that you'll report them if the insults don't stop is usually enough.

Asking to concede a game is not cheating or insulting - it can be annoying, but it is part of the site. Even if there's a chance you could still win, if your teammate doesn't want to stay, they have the right to ask about conceding. You also have the right to decline.

I've played cooperative games where a teammate hasn't liked something and passed on all their turns ... which I consider passive quitting. Going back to the OP, it would be great to know if that's an offense that can be reported.

You deciphered one line at a time. My entire post illustrates the experience. May I ask what is the purpose of leaving someone multiple comments about how poor their play is if you do not wish to play w/ them anymore? Also I didn’t say asking for a concede is cheating. Once you decline their concede offer they purposely start losing. Most times they will blatantly bomb cards. Other times like you mentioned they will just discard for the rest of the game. The insults and concede offers are predecessors to the cheating.

Also if you insult someone and file a report because they insulted you back you will not be punished for reporting them as you stated above.

You included a lot of superfluous details if you didn't want them to be part of the conversation. No one is arguing that there isn't an issue with players passively quitting. The purpose is that they're angry and get some sort of relief for expressing it to you - the same relief you get when complaining in the forum discussions. It isn't right, but that's life.

That means someone else filed their own separate report against you. Someone can say negative things to you that are against the websites policy and blatantly cheat in a game but if you tell them their actions are a problem they can file a report on you. Their insults can be in your report and they will not be punished unless you file your own separate report.

If you want to file a report you have to find 5 people to green thumb. Why you can private red thumb anyone for anything but can’t also do so for green thumbs is a question I don’t have a answer for.

The purpose of the concede option is to end games quicker in which you cannot win. Using it for emergencies is acceptable as well. If you are attempting to “concede” games in which there is no issue other than you throwing a tantrum because you didn’t like 1 play from your opponent but you can still get a perfect score then that is just quitting.

This is not true. You are able to report players for misconduct by using the "Report a Player" button on their Profile without regards to the number of Red Thumbs or Green Thumbs you have distributed.

You have only reported three players. You seem to be upset when players are rude or insulting to you and do not get penalised. As explained in the other thread, if you do not report them the moderators cannot take an action. However, if you insult them for their behaviour in the chat and they report you, you will receive a penalty. All parties who are guilty of misconduct and reported will be penalised. If someone is not reported, then they cannot be penalised. Even if you have been provoked, insulting behaviour is not tolerated on BGA.

This is also not true. You CAN public red thumb someone for cheating or kingmaking. You can just not necessarily report them for it. Red thumbing and reporting are distinct things. Furthermore, nowhere the site explicitely suggests a private red thumb, it suggests a red thumb.

Ok. I was actually not fully aware of the difference between public red thumbs and reports.

When reporting someone it list several reasons as to why you are reporting? For the kingmaking option this is what it states when attempting to report someone.

“The best way to combat Kingmaking is to give the Kingmaker player a red thumb (public red thumbs). There is no use filling in a report here: please give a red thumb to the one who made the kingmaking moves.”

When trying to file a report for someone deliberately cheating in a co op by throwing cards away it says this

“We totally understand that this behavor is painful, especially in cooperative games.
However, we cannot force players to play in a given manner, as long as they follow the rules.”

So to answer op does this mean no? You cannot report for cheating? Also is cheating not misconduct?
