In my case, my partner and I will want to play 2-player against each other quite frequently, but we will be seen as coming from the same IP. I'm concerned that this may be seen as doing the wrong thing from what I've read on this thread. I do hope that this detection system can make an exception for unrated games so that we can learn the rules by playing both sides just like we do with the cardboard versions.
I cannot give you a definite answer, but if you want to be certain, play with ELO turned off. If so, I wonder if there's a way of identifying this particular case with some sort of flag between the two accounts or something, and some sort of proof system. I just donated after finding this place and having a ball learning Race for the Galaxy.. it would be sad if I couldn't involve my partner now
