1v3 Catan Cheaters

1v3 for the entire length of the game....

I just finished a 4 player game of Catan, and three players were all on a team against me the whole game. BGA, I know you have a policy of not naming cheaters. But if you have nothing in place to prevent kingmaking, AND you do not want us to warn others of who these cheaters are, then what is going to be done about this problem? Do any of you guys reading my post want to waste your time playing 1v3 Catan against a bunch of kingmakers? Seriously? BGA, please let me name those who were in that game so nobody else can fall victim to them. This is getting out of hand at this point.

I just rewatched your game - I assume you are talking about the recent game where you left.

They were playing aggressively against you in the beginning - but this is not unfeasable because you had a promising position with lots of space (whereas white and yellow looked completely blocked in the beginning).

I cannot judge what happened in chat but your offers were passive-aggressive later. One could sense that you were fed up - perhaps you were provoked in chat? But your offer searching for 1wood+1 clay+1sheep+1grain+8ore was not serious and just a waste of time. In the end your offer of giving 1 wood and receiving one sheep was declined and you responded by making your offer worse (giving 1 wood and receiving 1sheep+1clay). This offer (which was not serious again) you repeated 6 times in the same move! I kind of understand why yellow felt provoked and robbed you in the next move - which you responded by quitting (which I also can kind of understand).

For me it was a game where emotions were going high. I would only conclude kingmaking if I saw more games of the same 3 players. I am not yet convinced by this single game. I was too lazy to look up more games, though.

I was offering ridiculous trades later in the game because it became obvious they were playing as a team. And if you look at their game history, they do this all the time. Any reasonable person watching that replay would come to the same conclusion.

Players like this need to be dealt with harshly. Why do you think this is such a rampant problem for this game? I would hate to see a classic such as this one get ruined due to a lack of disciplinary action taken against cheaters. It is really that simple. If we are not allowed to inform others about these types of people, and BGA takes no action against them, then it will be the end of Catan on BGA.
