There needs to be a check before ranked games start, like just a “I’m here” or “accept game start” checkbox before going to the player screen. Kind of like League of Legends where you’re in the queue and you have to accept the game or you’re just booted from the queue if you don’t accept within 10 seconds. Then if you join the queue again and still don’t accept the game then get a time penalty to not be able to join another ranked game queue. I just lost like 20 karma for being kicked from a game I never joined because of this site glitch where it auto starts a ranked game because I joined the queue but later closed out the browser when it took too long.
This wouldn’t even allow players to cheat by trying to get in the same game with themselves on another account or with friends if you make it so you can’t see who you’re playing with until all players have accepted and if you time penalize players (aka can’t join ranked queue again for 5 minutes or so) for declining/not accepting the ranked game multiple times in a row.
