This game really needs a confirm/undo feature at end of turn

Post by Cos- »

I posted a feature request asking for this: https://boardgamearena.com/bug?id=97567

Please click that link and vote for it if you agree!

I've played a bunch of other games on BGA and they all have it. This is the only one I can remember trying here that doesn't have this feature.

I personally like that it doesn't. Games can be long enough as they are

I don't understand how that relates. Nearly all games here have a confirm/undo option at the end of the turn, and as far as I can tell it doesn't add anything noticeable to the length of games. I suspect you may be talking about real time games, where the extra couple of seconds it takes for most turns might be annoying you? But that's no match for the frustration and ruined sense of fun that happens when someone knows they didn't make the move they wanted, and messed themselves up - something that would never happen in a real game, where people always let you say "oh oops I meant to do that not that".

Also, misclicks happen. Especially on mobile. Undo should be mandatory for all games on BGA.

Just happened today: I accidentally paid using the only wolf I had gotten during the game, after having played a bunch of deer. I didn't notice at first because it was in a series of left-right cards and I didn't realize the bit I clicked on was the other half of the wolf card, but as soon as I clicked play it became really obvious - because now I could see the wolf was in the clearing, and there was no wolf in my hand. But now it was too late. This is another example of why undo is needed: Sometimes it's harder to see that you're doing the wrong thing, until the thing you just did is visually represented on the screen, and then it becomes much easier to see what you just did. This happens in a lot of ways, in many games. It's often easier to realize that you want to do something else, only _after_ you just did the wrong thing and can see it on the screen.

Yes please. I made a complete miss that hurt earlier simply by a misclick. I much prefer a confirm. :|

I like the lack of confirm-button. One pays better attention while playing this way, and to me it is more fun like this.

I don't understand. Every time you play you need to first select a card to play, select the cards you want to use to pay, they become grey and then select "play card button". Every time you play you can check what you just did before validate, why would you need a confirm button? To confirm a second time?

Some of us play 5, 10, 20 or 30 games at the same time so you do get confused and might play a card that lets you play another one for free, but then you realize you don't have that type of card and lose the bonus action.

"Confirm your turn" and "undo it" are mandatory, not just because of the reason listed above, but also because of small mobile phone displays etc.
