Sorting the bug table

Post by Sawyer Einherjar »

Heyo moderators,

Is there anyway you could implement more sorting options for the bug table.
http://fr.boardgamearena.com/#!bugs

I'd really love to be able to sort the table on last updates rather than on most votes.
That way i can quickly scan for recent added bugs. I understand that most votes is handy for you as moderators to know what the community would want fixed first, but yeah it also means you need to scroll loads to see new bugs (which have only 1 vote by default) and with the need to click and expand the table all the time its a bit annoying :)

Also how do you work with the bugs, cause i see there is still loads open. You have a dedicated person for these or is it just done at random when in the right mood? :P

I try to help out anyway by checking bugs which i think might be misinteprents of rules and stuff. (which can also happend due to wrong translated strings)

Cheers,
Sawyer

Hello,

Yes, some alternative sorting would be great. I'll try to add this sometime in the future.

As for bugs, well, the developer for a game is obviously responsible for the bugs in this game, so there is as many methodologies as developers ;)
We mainly ask developers to be available on the days following the release to fix blocking bugs (if any). After that, it's up to them and the time they can spare.

Aside for that, we (the admins) tend to work in bursts. When we develop a new game or new functionnality, we need to concentrate on it. Then when it's done, we'll usually tackle a batch of bugs.
Please also note that in the open bugs, a lot are in fact suggestions or false positives (misunderstanding the rules or such). Any help to answer that last category would be greatly appreciated ;)

BTW, a side note to all players reading this: a well documented bug with screenshot(s) or move number and a clear description of how to reproduce the problem has a lot more chances to get fixed ;)

Cheers,
Een
