After being mildly annoyed many times by the game stopping to ask me if I want to discard food to lay another egg when I have no food to discard, I went to post a suggestion, but found there is already one that's a bit broader:

One of the comments on that suggestion covers exactly what I was planning to suggest:
> When there is the option to discard a food to gain an extra egg, there shouldn't need to be a required button press to discard none when you don't have extra food to discard. The same goes for discarding cards for an extra food, discarding eggs for an extra card if you don't have those items to discard.
