Criteria or Conditions for a turn based, automatically abandoned.

I have read the FAQ, and through a bunch of forums trying to come up with the right sequence of words to find an answer to my question.

It seems a little random when turn based games are abandoned. Some times 24, 36, 48 hours, this is casual observation.
If there are not enough seats filled (although, I would be willing to play with fewer players in some games).

Is there timing, conditions, criteria?

There are two instances today where I started games to play with a group, my game was abandoned and I was put in a game with other folks. Which is fine, I want to play, but prefer to play with folks I know. If there is not interest in my group at that time I would try again in a couple of weeks.

If I know the conditions, I can manage my started games better.

I've only ever seen unfilled turn-based games be abandoned after 3 days (i.e. 72 hours). I wonder if it depends on whether you're using the old lobby or the new lobby.
