Create a game : can it be easier?

Post by solo59 »

That is crazy but after a few years playing BGA everyday and creating games everyweek, I still don't know how to create a game.
Maybe it's me but I don't have such issue on any other platforms.
Will be great if the interface was simpler. I am thinking for example a simple "a few step where you answer MCQ:
1) which game (why it does not start by this?)
2) range of players
3) include friends
4) time and other mode
5) Start the game.

Currenty when I invite friends if I click on start, we have other players joining instead of my friend. Also the game seems to be created and AFTER I can change the options.
Am I the only one to struggle creating games?

I found it rather easy : i just type the game name in the omnibar that open the game page for me. Here i can create the table with choosing the settings and just invite my friends

If you use the lobby page (Play now link from the main menu), you need to add the games you like as favorite before (heart pictogram on a game page).
Then, you can choose the game you want to play on the lobby page, and press the Create button to add your own table :

This is confusing to me because when you do that, sometimes it's not clear that you can invite your friends before the table becomes open, since it's not exactly clear (to me) when the table actually appears.

With the "Play Now" interface it's very clear, since you click a button to open to all players, once your friends have joined.

Thanks for the advice, I will try that. It is more natural for me to choose the game first, configure the options and at the end choose with whom I want to play.
