I don't think there's a way to use two different scenarios. It's either one scenario for the whole tournament or a random scenario for each match, unfortunately.

I was forced to choose from three sets, one scenario of each and there will probably be only one round. There are absolutely no instruction anywhere to be found. (I tried to ask the fellow partisipants, but none of them could not help either.)

I find using the trial and error method in launhing a tournament a bit 'funny'.
It seems that a tournament cannot have 2 or more rounds with a different scenario for each round. Or maybe I just can't figure out how to have such settings (?)

I created a tournament and messed up on a few settings, but it was a success. I used round robin and it was fun if not chaos... I didn't understand how the game length worked and I should have left more time

I've looked a few other finished tourneys and they did have rounds, but I can't figure out how they did it! They used round robin too.

Also, what determines if a tournament has XP points? Just curious on that one....

Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

Looks like 300 XP if at least 10 players (0 XP if less than 10 players)

For anyone reading this and thinking about setting up a tournament, some thoughts on setting time limits:
If you are planning to do a turn-based event, use a time-limit of at least 48 hours, and probably more.

Time limits for tournaments work differently than for regular games. In regular games if you move reasonably quickly, you can recover some of your thinking time. So if you move at a reasonable pace, you probably don't get in trouble usually. This is not the case for tournaments, there you do not recover any time, and games in a tournament will be ended forcefully after 2x time limit (the win is awarded to the player taking least time).

Then if you're organising a tournament with random maps, it will be the case that some players get an 8 medal map that needs a lot of turns to finish. The players will also need some time to sleep, so 24 hours to finish a game is way too short.

Hello, regarding the game time for a scenario where two players face each other, for my OL campaigns, it is 7 to 10 days for a scenario with 6 medals on a standard board, and 10 to 15 days for a scenario with 8 medals and more on Breaktrough set. Have fun!

Thanks all for the replies!

Yup I am convinced minimum of 10 days for bigger challenges/medal maps. It's worked great!

I thought I had asked this, but it's not here and none of the other threads make sense...

So, I had a friend ask about using the Swiss system for '44. I kind of thought it was for 3+ player games.

I'm not really familiar how the Swiss system works, would it work for '44? Has anyone tried it?

Any feedback is welcome and thanks!

It does require more than three players, but that is normal for a tournament :)
Swiss works great for a memoir tournament, it is fully supported by BGA, so go ahead and use it!
