TRANSFIGURE exploit

Post by Stalloner »

TRANSFIGURE it reads "Gain 4 mana. You may choose to gain 1 less mana to destroy 1 of your spells that has no mana on it." What it actually does is REPLACE another spell with one of the store, which allows the player to cycle spells and use the new spell on the same turn wich is extremely better than the description reads. QUICK SWAP already says "Discard this spell and Replace it with a new spell" so the term Replace already exists. TRANSFIGURE should not replace, only destroy a card.

If the card worked as intended it is already useful against ENERGY SHIELD or ECLIPSE that blocks you from replacing spells. No need to have that incorrect description and exploit.

Hey Stalloner,

This is the intended effect!

"Destroy" is a new keyword that is being released in the upcoming expansion. Here is the summary of its effect:

"When a spell is destroyed, discard all mana off the spell starting with the top mana and then continuing downward until there are no mana left on the spell. Resolve any effects that might occur from discarding off the spell. Then, discard the spell and immediately replace it with a new spell from the spell pool. Unless otherwise stated, any spell that is face up on the board can be destroyed - your opponent’s spells, your own spells, or spells in the spell pool."

There are a number of different applications of the keyword in the expansion, which is why it was introduced instead of continuing to use the longer phrase "discard this spell and replace it with a new spell".

i see, but adding keywords like mtg and hearthstone really sucks...
i was attracted by the beautiful simplicity. hate to see it gone
