I believe once you've been booted there is a button to "get back in the game", however, OP, be aware that this doesn't remove the penalty for not having completed the game (it's more a case of, you can play it out if you want, but the result is already decided). Most of the time, your opponent(s) will also leave once someone is booted (usually the person doing the booting, if no one else), so you're probably just playing against some kind of AI anyway.

If you are late with your turns, your opponents can boot you. If you're having trouble staying within the time limits, then choose a different speed of game (perhaps move to the slow real-time speed, or even turn-based).

Did you not read what I wrote? I am playing the game through until the end. That's what makes me believe the game was completed. The screen that says, end of game... that one.

Which table? Have a look at the URL, and you can see the table number. Meeplelowda is talking about this table: https://boardgamearena.com/table?table=445251147, and it does indeed say 38% of this game was played before a player left. The replay log also says you left the game:

Move 29: 5:17:07 PM zapchic has quit the game and is going to lose this game whatever happens.

There is no indication that your opponent skipped you (which does show in the log before this). For example, in this game: https://boardgamearena.com/table?table=442964610, you can see the following:

Move 37: 4:43:15 AM zapchic is out of time, so Delos999 skips his/her turn
Move 38: 4:43:15 AM zapchic has quit the game and is going to lose this game whatever happens.

Also, as I said in my post, I don't know if you came back to the game after being skipped and then played it through, I don't know what you see at the end of the game. But your opponent is very possibly not playing at that point, you are playing against an AI. This does not count as completing the game.

You may see the notification about the penalty a little later, and it could be after actually properly finishing another game. Just keep in mind that the notification does not (most likely) refer to the game you just finished. Go to the reputation tab in your profile to see which tables were affected by penalties.

Yes, I read what you wrote and looked at your game history. Have you read and understood.what everyone else has posted here? If not, I'm sure if you are polite they will provide further clarification.

It's getting insane waiting for an Areana game for so long and not hear an alert that finally there are actually enough players and Arena Games accept automatically
So without 1 play being made becsuse of no alert expelled and penalized for not knowing the game began. Sounds fair
About the most reasonable penalty I can think of for nit knowing the game started.
