Backgammon Opponents give up the game too often

Post by draingirl »

Almost every time when I'm far ahead or have thrown an opponents stone out with him being unable to move my opponent quits. Sometimes they quit quickly before I can get my last stone out just out of spite.
I propose to implement some kind of system that encourages Backgammon players too not quit the game all the time. (It happens way more often in Backgammon than in other games, it's become a thing). The minus points you get in the game should depend on (when you loose) how many stones you have in your home field and if you give up the game you should loose extra points. The winner in this situation should get more plus points accordingly.

If the opponent concedes, then you won. You get full rating points, and they lose full rating points. They concede, because there's no point in playing out a lost scenario. You both may as well save time and move on to the next game. What are you complaining about?

No, BGA does what your standard game site does. The outcome, win/lose, etc. is all that matters. There is no difference in "how much" a player wins by. Conceding is also perfectly normal, and in fact underrated, it should probably be done more often than it is.
