FAQ: new achievements & XP system

I just earned the Top 20 ELO in Innovation. Which is very weird, because I earned that already years ago, and in fact the achievements for Top 5 and Top 10 are still in my stash and they have the correct dates they were earned. So it's bizarre now: I earned Top 5 and Top 10 in March 2022, but only earned Top 20 in December 2023?!?!

I just earnt Top 5 ELO in Battle of Lits too, while I have been there for ages. So I guess there's some wonky stuff going on.

Something major got screwed up people are playing solo and getting Elo for it. 1300 in railroad ink someone almost 900 in Next Station London and I am sure there are lots more examples

Thanks for the quick reports, indeed yesterday there was an issue with Top ELO Ranking awards being attributed again. That has now been fixed and the awards in question have been removed. Sorry about the confusion.

There was a major bug introduced where a bunch of people were awarded a bunch of Elo from solo games, this needs to be addressed as it completely discredits the rankings. There is a 1300+ player in railroad ink, Richi5000, from solo games, ufm gained over 3000 Elo in yahtzee, a player, Rikkesoft, got over 861 Elo in Next Station London despite only playing solo (which should give 0 Elo always).

That situation can genuinely arise due to Top 20 not being awarded until the game is officially released. I got Top 2 in Space Base while it was still in alpha (I'm pretty sure) on 2021-12-18; and Top 20 on 2022-02-09. Another curious effect is that the earlier awards give less XP, so the Top 20 (750 XP) is worth more than the alpha Top 5 (600 XP).

Hi, just to inform you that even if I have crossed the 700 elo for one game no notice/award have been posted on the account while the result is reported here /award?game=1&award=27
Maybe there is an issue in the notification?

Is XP still changing as well? I noticed a banner on the overall player ranking page saying things were changing, but this thread began in 2020.
