Task artisan + scale procs twice

I got 2 imps (one of which is Scale) 2 occs in front of me, and I played Task Artisan, using its ability to play a Lettuce patch.
In my mind, scale should only proc once here because I go from 2 imps 2 occs to 3 imps 3 occs. But it procs twice, giving me 4 foods.
I'm not sure this was an intended interaction (since Task Artisan and scale are not the newest cards) or it was a bug.
If it was an intended interaction, how come the scale count twice there?

There is a discussion on BGG on this very topic. It is very unintuitive that it gives 4f in my opinion but I have come to learn that it does do that on BGA.

If I could ask for something is that this interpretation would be added into the excellent Agricola Revised Compendium.
