Tournament with localization, is it possible ?

Post by QuillQueen »

Hi,

I lived an unfair situation in my last tournament. I was very high in the game, i played everytime i'm connected and i take connexion a lot of days, but i was expulsed in the last round... because my opponents was in other part of the world.

So, everytime i played on the night, the other played in my morning and after i lost every afternoon before playing, because we was not in same time on night... and i was get out with my high activity on the website !

Can we chose a tournament with selectivity of localisation ? Have you geographical options on the rules of tournament ? Because if we can't, i was so sad of this situation, it's locked me to do more tournaments :'(
I would like taking tournament for European people, for exemple...

Thanks

You can look for tournaments with playing hours that match more closely to the hours you play, but that's about it. And tournaments with playing hours tend to be fewer because they then attract fewer players. But they do exist.

As nik said, you can choose tournaments that have set playing hours. "Playing hours" is a 12-hour window in which your clock runs down. You are allowed to make moves outside that time, but your clock will not run outside that time. The playing hours are translated to your time zone.

So for example, you may choose a tournament with playing hours 0700-1900 local time because you want to make moves as soon as you wake up. But this may mean the clock is running while you are busy at work/school. More realistically for me, being a night owl, I would be fine with playing hours 1300-0100, because the entire evening would be active *and* my clock would be frozen while I'm asleep.
