Beta Games to Full

How exactly does a game move from beta to full fledge game? Take Stockpile for example. I want to play arena or tournaments of Stockpile, but it's been in Beta for as long as I can remember. There are games that are developed put into Alpha, Beta, and full release in quicker time than this game has gone through beta.

I basically asked this question during a thread on the Summer of Games releases back mid-year. The response given to me was:

More news post announcements means the actual major games with publisher attention and backing don't get enough highlighting, which means the publishers might be unhappy.

Moving lots of games from beta to release with no announcements means those games never get played. At least with the current monthly event, each game gets a bump when its day comes out. If you've ever developed a BGA game, you know how that first day or two of highlrelease tend to have a huge uptick in games, even though everyone could already play it in beta.

Thank you for the context. This all makes sense to me, I guess that just leaves my question of Stockpile directly. Why has it been in Beta for so long? Maybe it just seems long to me since it is one of the only Beta games I play regularly, Farkle being another. Maybe there are plenty of games that have been there just as long if not longer than Stockpile and I just need to wait patiently. But I do still wish I knew why it hasn't moved on yet. haha.

Now there are more than a hundred of beta games, the calendars release 21 more beta games during the month.
However, as slots are already full of commercial games, all public domain games have a very low chance of getting out of beta, unless they are willing to be released without an announcement.

Makes sense, thank you for your insight. And thank you for the fun and quick adaptation of Farkle. Although I am less inclined to want to play tournaments of Farkle then a game of Stockpile. It is still a fun one to play when I just want a quick push your luck type game. haha.

There you go - no more beta for Stockpile. Now I just have to hope the next two days include the games I've been waiting on to come out of beta...

HAHAHAHA I just saw this myself and rushed over here to celebrate! I can't believe it is finally out of Beta. so excited. I put it out there into the void and it listened I choose to think its all because of me that it is now out of beta.
