How to use or protect my gift points (less than 100)

I sometimes learn a new game and noticed the gift points. So I'm trying to collect up to 100. Now someone told me they are about to expire soon. I don't think i can learn enough games so fast before that happens.

Is there any other way I can use them, if i have less than 100? Or is low gift points protected from expiration?

I'm hoping casual players can have any chance to use them eventually.

Who told you they are going to expire? They expire one year after being earned (each set of points has its own expiry), you can see this on the page for them (by clicking on the link next to your gift points in your profile).

There isn't any other way to use them, nor are they saved if they're under 100 points. You can do other things to earn them (sponsoring people to become members, translations, tutorials), but if you can't earn 100 within a rolling 12 month period, then you just lose them in the order they were earned. But if you want to pursue that, learning 20 new games over 12 months doesn't seem that much. I've been figuring I will run out, as I've played and won a lot of games I know (and want to know), but at the rate they bring on new games, I'm still earning easily.

I can't do 20 in a year, so for me it's just stupid and feels like my presents stolen before i have a chance to use them.
