Why is a popular suggestion from 3 years ago being ignored?

I can’t understand why, in my opinion, such a simple, popular and quickly resolved suggestion for changes to the site has been ignored for so long?
1) It is in 4th place in popularity among suggestion.
2) This offer is already 3 years old! Wow! Soon you can celebrate your anniversary!
3) Why do we need this system of suggestion with voting, if even the most popular requests from users are not satisfied?
Bga, just reject the offer if you don’t want or are unable to change anything.

As a BGA game developer, I can answer this portion of your inquiry.

The suggestion voting system is a great way for us to gauge interest in an idea, but it is not the sole deciding factor. We also weigh in the difficulty of implementation and (this is a big one that most people don't consider) the risk of introducing bugs to the existing implementation. Other factors matter, too, such as the current load of pressing bugs and blocking issues.

A couple weeks ago, I received a game suggestion saying I was lazy if I didn't implement it because it was easy and there weren't many active suggestions in that game. What that suggester didn't see were the 82 other emails I had received for bugs/suggestions on other games over the past three days. I get tons of emails spread across a variety of games and issues, so I prioritize things accordingly. (Also, calling someone lazy is rarely a way to endear yourself enough to get the help you want, especially from volunteers. His issue, not yours.)

Some irony: you can fix it yourself, but then you won't be able to make suggestions

A quick tip to "fix" this.

On the preferences > advanced tab ( boardgamearena.com/preferences?section=advanced ), you can add your own custom CSS.
Adding the following will hide these player notifications:

.notif_playerstatus {
display:none!important;
}

Only downside is that these bug-pages won't work when you have custom CSS ... so you have to clear it if you want to add / reply to a bug.

As a BGA game developer, I absolutely agree but unfortunately do not have the power to fix it for the site in general.

It makes me not want to have friends, the flood of messages disrupts the game log so badly.

Yes, I caught that. I voted for this very suggestion years ago because I don't like the messages spamming up my game log.

The same reasoning applies to the site devs, who have more work than time. It would be nice if this particular suggestion took more official interest, but I only have any insight to that particular portion of the original question.
