Servers down?

Post by Leander Quest »

Are severs down? I have to press F5 all the time because registering actions takes forever. I cleared my browser cache yesterday and everything was better, but today I have the same issues again.

I am also having this issue with every game. Refresh is the only way to play for the last 2 days.

Having same issue. Have to refresh between each action to make the site allow me to move on. Having done moves in 6 different games, I've had enough, and will log in later/tomorrow to move in my other games! :D Will guess it's a temporary server issue. Seemed OK yesterday and this morning.

This sounds like the issue being discussed (at length) in the thread "Move Recorded, Waiting for Update." The last post in that thread is from admin p1ngouiin:

The issue has been confirmed. For now, please follow the bug report for more information, and fix progression. We are still investigating to understand the circumstance of the issue, and working on a fix.

Thanks for all your report, and stay tuned on the bug report for more information.

Yes it is happening to me again today as well. It has happened for a day or two and then gone away intermittently over the past several months.

I have a lot of appreciation for the staff who maintain this site that provides so many of us with such great enjoyment. But I don't understand why they choose to focus time and energy on certain things and not others. We know there are site-breaking issues like this one lurking out there, yet rather than making these sorts of bugs the top priority, time has been spent on implementing changes to the rating system that are widely disliked. I believe site admins would benefit the user experience more if their time went to working on the existing list of bugs and site suggestions instead of coming up with new and unexpected ideas.

A year or two ago the site's chief admin did an "ask me anything" on Twitch. That might have been before the Asmodee sale, I can't remember. If they held another one in the future I would like to ask them if they would consider pausing new initiatives and instead focus first on making sure the basic functionality is truly failproof.

What if site admins spent their time fixing the list of bugs and site suggestions instead of coming up with new ideas that unintentionally negatively impact the community of users?
My guess would be that those in charge of tweaking ELOs are different to the people in charge of servers and the background code....

Just started getting "Move recorded. Waiting for update." Can't play any game without having to refresh after every move.

I think this bug is getting even worse. Now it is impossible to begin a game even if I keep refreshing the page. BGA is now entirely useless!

We're also experiencing this - unable to start a game, stuck in "Configuring Table"

It is taking long to be solved and communication from the BGA team is scant. Very unsatisfactory
