I dont really like this new system.
I dont feel the same when I am playing and we dont care anymore if we succeed or not.
Dont get the point why the elo doesnt count anymore.

Agree with this comment !

ELO was the sole reason you wanted to succeed?

Hi,

I want to follow up and emphasize that this also is affecting competitive games. I'm constantly playing Hardback. You can call me addicted or obsessed if you like. There is a cooperative option for Hardback, but for the most part I, and I believe most people, play competitively.

Playing on the phone, you can't even see the title of the ranking: Beginner, Apprentice, Good, etc.

This affects my play in several ways:

1. I've made a goal I'm trying to reach in ELO. Keeps me motivated.
2. I don't know the ELO of my opponents. This very much affects gameplay and how much risk I'm willing to take on any particular turn.
3. I welcome and offer to help new players. I don't tell them how to play, but if I see a tiny ELO, I offer to answer any rules questions. I want other players to understand the game. And I don't offer all the time, because experienced players might feel I'm condescending to them if I offer to explain the rules.

It would be helpful to have the ELO back, please.

Thanks!

You can alter your play/strategy if you know other's ranking or you can offer help if you know they are very new to the game. Also, not being able to see how many points everyone gets after a game (thinking about Hanabi) is an unfortunate development as well. Please bring these features back.
I agree with the statement above. Not knowing a player's level makes it harder to adjust your play in games like Crew. I have noticed a trend in people being more short tempered since the change because of comments regarding play. There are more negative comments instead constructive tips. Even if you do not display ELO, it would help if you would display rank: Beginner, Apprentice, Good, Expert, Master during play.

Hello, I would like to understand this change in the ELO system in cooperative games what sense it can have, because in my opinion no one.

I would have understood if the ELO scoring system had been completely disabled in cooperative games then it would have made sense and logic.

But the way it’s been modified now is just meaningless and only annoying.
The ELO ranking is still visible on the screen when the game starts and at the end of the game it changes depending on the result but without knowing how much, and to know it you have to go to your home and see how much has changed. (Why do this extra step?)

I do not understand why change something in this way, just to make it more complicated without apparent benefit.

It would make more sense to remove it completely because right now it is like before only with the boredom of having to check every time after a game going into the lobby.

Maybe it’s me that do not understand the potential of this new system, so I ask you to explain to me the logic behind this change.

No sarcasm I just want to understand and help improve the site!
thanks for your work

The ELO system is necessary for matchmaking, so it hasn't changed that much and is not disabled at all. (Here is the link to the announcement.)

The main change regarding co-op games, is that ELO is now hidden (except on the game accept page, which IMO was forgotten or too hard to hide here without huge code rewrites).

The reasons for and the consequences of these update changes are being actively discussed in the thread I linked before.

I totally agree that I miss seeing my ELO in Hardback.
