TTA: Is game acting wrong, or am I missing a rule?

Post by ozjesting »

My turn is beginning and I have exactly 8 Blue Tokens in the bank. If my turn ended right now I would have to pay 2 corruption yes? My understanding of rule is that if the right section is empty (which holds 10 tokens) 2 corruption is the cost. If I have even ONE Blue Token in that section after production I don't pay corruption. Is that correct?

So my turn begins and I play "Justice System". This card will give me one extra civil action AND 3 Blue Tokens. Those blue tokens should be put in bank immediately yes? Such that I now have 11 Blue tokens in the bank. But what I am seeing when I play the card is 3 of my current 8 tokens "blink"...then we see 3 more "arrive" So app seems to be subtracting 3 blues, than adding 3 blues. This strikes me as a bug perhaps?

But more confusing comes next. I spend some resources which returns 3 more blue tokens to bank...now I am showing 11 tokens. When I click "pass" to end my turn, I get the warning message "you will lose 2 resources to corruption". This seems incorrect as well. (edit: To be clear, I will have 3 blue tokens in right section bank after production)

So would one of you fine people please explain why what is happening is indeed correct and I can play on...or point me in the direction of what to do next please.

TTA table n°9021693 if that helps. My move still in starting state as I used UNDO to wait and figure this out. Thanks

That first assumption about the blue tokens is correct. Also, Justice System has worked fine when I've played it, although that was in realtime. If it was messed up in turn-based though, surely it would top the bug page.

Did you remember to take into account production before the corruption check? That would often take away 3 (or more) blue tokens from the bank. (You said you'd have 3 tokens in the right section after production, but claim to have exactly that much right before passing. Those two things can't both be correct, unless your production is that horrifically weak - we're talking zero miners and producing just enough food to be consumed, in which case corruption is the least of your worries... )

This is my first complete game...so strategy is indeed in trouble ;)

But situation is correct. I have 8 blue in bank. And after playing Justice System STILL have 8 in bank. This cant be correct. There is no resource cost for Justice System...all very odd to me.

And yes, i have 3 blue tokens on right side section AFTER production (I only have 2 miners on bronze. we are a backward people) and yet system wants to charge me corruption on turns end.

I am getting a note that replay could be trouble as "game has updated since it began"...would this have introduced a problem.

I happened to be watching when you played the Justice System card, and no blue tokens were added. I was going to suggest that you play it anyway and then file a bug, but it looks like you tried another move. Hopefully, the problem isn't hard to reproduce. You should still file a bug, though...

Thanks shiv...thought I was going crazy ;) I didnt mean to complete that move! I was trying to see about the other part of the problem with corruption...but calculated wrong for the new move and thus the pass ended my turn! ;)
