Suddenly reached Elite league

I suddenly reached Elite league despite having not played this game for a couple of weeks. Anyone else? Did the number of leagues reduce or something so that we got promoted?

Was waiting for someone to clarify about that, but that seems to be the case. Now there is only Silver and Bronze. No idea what prompted the sudden reduction though, and why to only 3 leagues, that's my question.

In general, the number of leagues depends on how popular a game is: https://boardgamearena.com/faq?anchor=f ... anyleagues. I’ve never known it change in the middle of a season though.

There was a bug where some people were going straight from Silver to Elite and others were having to go through other levels. When the devs fixed that, the promoted everyone who had been side tracked.
