Quattuor Reges is a new abstract strategy game for 2 players by Gauthier Fourcade, designer of award-winning Yin Yang, publicly available now for the first time on BoardGameArena.
It's a game in chess family, with pieces representing familiar playing cards from a 32 card deck (7 to Ace in 4 suits). The goal of each player is to reach the last rank of the board with one of their Queens, Kings or Aces, a task requiring astute positional awareness to find a weak spot in opponent's defenses to breach through towards the decisive victory. A large 15 by 17 squares board provides ample space for tactical maneuvering.
