Hello,
I just wanted to share with you a rule that I was unaware of after 100 games of Ark Nova in BGA: you cannot score more than 41 conservation points (and I assume maximum 113 appeal). I suppose your scoring marker cannot get out of the board, which makes sense but since the scoring tracks are not fully displayed in BGA (unless you click on them of course), this limitation is not obvious. Also, I did not see any mention to this maximum of conservation or appeal in the rule book. It is not a bug, as the game log mentioned "cannot get more than 41 conservation points".
It occurred in table ##462828220 (https://boardgamearena.com/table?table=462828220)
It was a quite unusual game. I scored a ton of conservation points through projects (including 2 worth 5 points, and 3 animal releases with migration bonus). I also got all the conservation points you possibly can from zoo (workers, universities, partner zoos) and reputation track. In addition to that, I made at least 4 donations, and was supposed to get 6 additional conservations points with my end game objectives (I played an elephant), not taking into account the sponsor cards. I was expecting to win when the end game scoring started, but then to my surprise the conservation counter stopped at 41 and I lost the game for 3 points. Had I knew this, I would have played differently as I could get nearly the same final score without releasing an animal on my last turn.
Not a big deal, but I was wondering if you were aware of this rule, and if you had ever reached the end of one of the scoring tracks yourself.
