expelled after communication error

I just played a No ELO game of Seasons.
About halfway through it was my turn to choose a die but i couldn't because of a "communication error".
I tried F5 a couple of times; it didn't fix the problem.
Tried to tell my opponent what was going on; but couldn't chat either.
"Communication error (name lookup timed out) with notification service, please retry" kept coming up.
My opponent expelled me from the game.
I got a time- and leaving-penalty: -37 for this No ELO game.
Is there a way to fix this?
Has anyone else experienced the same problem?

yes, i experienced the same problem yesterday at the same time approximately on a puerto rico game.
I was also expelled and took a leaving penalty and i find this extremely unfair because it was the game server that crushed (i think)

I wonder how many times this happened. I wasn't in any live games but I was having trouble with the site. When there's a problem going on at the site, is there any "global" sort of way to fix something like that?
