So when everything is simultanious - what happens when I finish year and get soldiers from other players?

Topic. I just want to know how this is implemented. When I finish year and get soldier during opponents turn which he finished after mine, am I able to use it this turn? If yes, isn't it a disadvanatage to finish year first because the soldier might just be on a semi-good position now.

You get the soldier or the good that turn. If you had already finished your round, the game opens it back up and you can use them then.

You are correct, though; it is terrible to be done first, as this means that you could have done something better if you had them from the beginning. I, personally, lost a game because the undo button only goes back 1 use, and the game system actually removes the bonus goods/soldiers if you do try to undo after receiving them.

It is a disadvantage. It ranges from insignificant to quite severe depending on which round and what the board state is. My personal take is that it's usually not worth stalling since most of my games are not decided over fine margins and I typically have multiple games running and the turn-based rule exists. However, your win rate long-term will definitely be very slightly higher if you always decide to stall and go last.

The only exception for me is if I notice someone who *clearly* needs to make a decision on whether or not to help someone and is *clearly* stalling for competitive advantage. If I notice that then I tend to bring out my vacation jokers.

I agree that it’s not worth stalling. I rarely have trouble finding a spot to put an extra stone or soldier. It may not be the absolute best spot it could have been, but it’s still an extra resource that the other players didn’t get, so it’s still an advantage. It also feels a little bit like Christmas when you click on the “your turn” notification only to find that you have an extra soldier waiting to spend.

However, if you’re paying close attention to the other player’s sheets, then you can dangle out a scouting shape or market good they need to bait them into buying from you. In this situation though, I still finish my turn. I just make sure to leave a good spot for the extra resource in case someone buys.

You can't always reasonably leave a spot without significant disadvantage. Most common case is final round where you hold the only scout shape. You can't leave a spot open especially if those points would combo and get you blue workers back.

It's obviously up to you how you want to deal with it but if I calculate it'll affect placement and I see my opponent clearly playing other games hoping I'll make the mistake and let him trade/scout for free I will definitely do everything I can.

I see your point. I've been in that situation where an unexpected soldier got me to that last cohort box that bought me an extra builder on discipline track. The builder was wasted builder but would have made a difference if I'd been able to account for it earlier. That extra point or two that I could have gotten didn't determine the game, but it could have. You can only prepare so much. However, I can't think of a good way to address this in the BGA implementation.

PS. I love that you're taking into account the other games your opponents are playing simultaneously when you're making your decisions; that's next level. I see why your ELO is over 700 and I'm taking notes.
