Public information: sex

It sure would be nice if the preferences didn’t require you to specify whether you are a man or a woman…how about a 'prefer not to say' option as well?

I personally don't care, but I can certainly see why someone wouldn't want this to be public information. There may be some reason the "site" needs to know this, but even so, there could be an option for it to not be public. If there's no need for it, a "genderless" option could be available.

The site obviously doesn't need to know because when you originally sign up it is not required information, you submit it later. The only thing I've ever seen where the site could use it is in gameplay to change from saying "it is [player name's] turn to move his/her piece" but it obviously doesn't use this information here because it only ever uses masculine pronouns, regardless of player gender.

Hi,

This has been fixed with the latest release. Now, no option is checked by default if you never checked one, and it's not mandatory to check one to update other information in your profile.

Hey Een, thanks for this update! I also suggest to add a third option in the sense of "I prefer not to say/Other" - for people who were forced to check their gender before this update, and possibly for people who don't identify with being male or female.

I agree and/or the possibility to "uncheck" one's current sex. The update only helps new profiles, not existing profiles.

Not having a "prefer not to say" and/or "other" and/or the ability to "uncheck" male/female is discrimination for those who do not identify with being male or female (e.g. the Transgender and other communities).
