just wanted to bring attention to a loophole that a couple of players have been using lately.
players esp with a history or conceding early, quitting or “disconnecting” from games.
as soon as u are 2sec! behind your playing limit (esp when playing from mobile devices) they kick u so they font lose reputation and elo. this shouldn’t be exploited this way! any way to appeal the loss of karma due to this? it’s easy to see the connection between this behavior and the player that kicked u…

Lately? There are three bazillion threads on this topic going back for years.

Fortunately, 2 seconds is an exaggeration. No one can kick you for being only 2 seconds overtime unless you're doing it repeatedly.

The first time someone tries to expel you, you'll get a 20 second warning. If you go overtime again and someone tries to expel you again, you get a 10 second warning. And then again with a 5 second warning. Eventually, if you're still going overtime after getting lots of warnings, you can finally be expelled with only two seconds overtime, but that means you've been going over your allotted time over and over. If the time limit is constricting you, you should select a slower pace to place at so you're being respectful to others. Likewise, others should attempt to chat with you ("Would you mind if we picked up the pace to keep within our turn limits?") before trying to expel you so that they're being respectful, too.

You're well within your rights to use your entire turn time. If you're continually breaking the time you committed to, your opponents are entitled to skip you.

You cannot be kicked 2 seconds overtime -- there is a 20-second warning, as described above.

The good news is there is something you can do about this: It is impossible for another player to eject you from the table if you do not exceed your turn timer. If you find you are exceeding your turn timer I suggest playing at tables with longer turn timers.

Yes, its just terrible - and all those players who play good moves, and everyone who gets a lucky dice roll - the site is just full of players exploiting loop holes to win. My opponents should only be allowed to make moves that make me win.

Seriously, this has come up so many times. The rules of the game require you to stay inside the time; if you don't like that rule don't play with it.
