Whoa! Thanks a lot for this post, I always had this curiosity and honestly it is a little shock to me, I expected that the France was the "biggest nation" here on the site, and I completely understimated the Japan... I suppose a 3rd or 4th place!
How did you make this list?


It will be nice to know also the REAL data, probably it won't be so different but I suppose some nations will disappear from the list.
I never understood why on BGA you can declare you are from any nation, also if this is not true (maybe to take a cooler flag? ) , and why it is tolerated that some players have a ton of accounts also if the multiple accounts policy says clearly: One BGA account = One person.

I wrote a crawler to crawl player profile which only includes player's basic and public information, such as their location, language and age if public. Some players(or accounts) are so inactive that my crawler wasn't able to reach them, however, I believe that I've crawled most active players. So, I BELIEVE the percentage I gave is close to the REAL percentage.

Also, I can't identify whether two accounts belong to one actual person, so I just regard one account as one player. Japanese like to sign up multiple accounts? I can't tell, I don't have any evidence.
