Mandatory snapping

I still don't believe snapping income works as intended, I've heard multiple times it's supposed to be mandatory, would be a nice minor nerf to the current ark nova metagame.

The icon overview glossary does not state "may" on snap icon, so it should indeed be mandatory.
The same is true for the draw from rep or deck, but this has less impact as you can always just draw from deck if you don't want to touch the display.

Interestingly, the size 2/3 enclosure reward say MAY, so you can opt to not place those, but there is no text with the kiosk/pavillion reward so not sure if those can be skipped or not.

I'd have to agree, yea. The enclosure income block is the only one that states "may".

Kiosk / pavilion reward were intended to be optional as well (and work that way on BGA because we checked it). I am 95% sure it was confirmed on BGG.

Rules for snapping specifically state not to take from the deck fwiw

But on the original topic, taking all income you have seems mandatory based on the wording of the rules (no "may", all "take"), so I would assume jdansp is correct, if BGA is allowing you to skip income, that is probably not within the scope of the rules and should be considered for a change.

Anything that places buildings on the map has to either be optional or have an "if able" qualifier, because otherwise filling up your map would deadlock the game.

Thanks for the quick fix!

It still says "you may snap..." in the wording when you're taking income, so might be good to update that language to avoid confusion (it threw me off before I saw this post).
