Just $0,02 from a player that cannot partecipate tonight: I'll give for granted that, as usual, the tournament will be 1vs1.

As you certainly know, if you host 50players playing swiss, 4 games aren't enough to elect a winner, I mean: after 4 games if there are more than 16players it's possible (certain with 32+) to have more than one player @4-0 and I feel it's not "fair" to have won all games but not the tournament due to some kind of tiebreaker...

I suppose that the 4 games schedule is due to time issues, but then I just want to suggest to the organizers to play, after the 4 games, a final game 1st vs 2nd (17-32players) or a semifinal and final games (33+players, 1st-4th;2nd-3rd), so that only two/four players "have to" play another game or two afterwards, and that the winner and only the winner has won all the games he/she played.

Piccettino is right, the swiss system works better with a defined number of participants. If you wanna keep the 32 players as for the standard tournaments it will be better to play 5 rounds for all (or as Piccettino suggested, to allow a final match for the #1 and #2 ranked player after the swiss); if you wanna put 50 participants you should play 6 rounds of swiss (in this case in theory you can also put an higher number of players, up to 64) or you should have another phase with the 4 best player.

If you wanna do a swiss only tournament these are the maximum (and best) number of participants

3 rounds: 8 players
4 rounds: 16 players
5 rounds: 32 players
6 rounds: 64 players
7 rounds: 128 players

and so on

Hi,

Yes, it was definitely a test because BGA is going to host Seasons World Series 2014 at the end of this week, so we wanted to test with exactly the same format.

In the future the goal is to let you configure & organize the tournament so don't worry it will be fine ;)
