Rather have more games implemented and maybe update some of the implementations.

It's not so bad as u all say and outdated? Op is f2p here. Is there room for improvement? Yes ofc but at what cost. It's not like bga is expensive and such, and so many free to play.
For me this is last priority rather keep games running well here. And cross platform maintenance for the developers is a nightmare.

Yeah I think the simplest solution is to upgrade the experience on the existing website, so that it looks and feels and plays more like a stadalone client (even though it will just be web pages with Javascript).

Can you explain what you mean by that? Anything running javascript will behave exactly like the browser already does now. You can play the game on Chrome of Firefox and have a substantially identical experience.

I'm not sure what changes you're driving at with the comment, but I'd like learn more. I suspect any change to the "feel" of the game will need to be implemented on a game-by-game basis.

It feels like you may be conflating a certain look-and-feel (one that can perhaps be called "web 2.0 style" or something) with a technology (web technology).

You can run any look-and-feel as a web app. 3D graphics, all custom graphical elements, whatever. Unity programs can run in the browser, with WebGL. WebGPU is coming too, with promises of true high-end graphics in the browser. I think it's more likely to go the other way, that your AAA games will be run on your browser in the future, rather than less-demanding products like BGA being made into native apps. :)
