The person who left would be in last and the game would be over. If the players wanted to play for giggles nothing's stopping them, but that's all it would be, a bit of silly fun. The serious part is over. Doubt the average game night is ranking your TTR 4 player games and is going to put any real thought into how to rank such a situation, but that's the scenario you asked. No idea why game night dies in your world after the TTR game, but personally I'd be looking at what we're playing next, lol. Odd false dilemma.ChiefPointThief wrote: ↑14 March 2024, 14:31 So consider this when determining if a game should be able to carry on. You are having a game night with 3 friends over. You are midway or further into the game progress and friend #3 gets a call. They must leave. If you are playing ticket to ride do you gather that person's trains cards, put them in the discard, and continue? Or do you call off game night without finishing the game? I'm finishing the game and friend #3 finishes in last. The majority of games here that are every person for themselves that I ever played I would continue to play also IRL in this situation.
Edit: I meant a game in which it is every player for themselves like the topic being discussed. A 1vsall would be something like not alone.ChiefPointThief wrote: ↑13 March 2024, 23:13 Obviously if the game is 1vs1 and someone quits the game is over. That doesn't apply to this situation so not sure why you said ask someone who only plays 1vs1 and it would be 0%. This solution is clearly for 1vsall 3+ players.
Are we ever going to change the system to stop hurting honest players vs quitters?

You would be playing by yourself at this point because you are a “primarily 1v1” player. That is opting to converse with someone who already nicely told you they don’t care to converse with you and is discussing game situations that don’t even apply to you. Even though this situation doesn’t apply to you at all

Just so you know, if there are 4 players and one of them leaves, that means there are still 3 players.ChiefPointThief wrote: ↑14 March 2024, 16:23You would be playing by yourself at this point because you are a “primarily 1v1” player. Even though this situation doesn’t apply to you at allyou wouldn’t be bound by these rules. Like tissac referenced on page 1 of this thread thoun (2 devs) has already suggested an option to have normal scoring with leavers. If you don’t like that option then don’t accept it. Very simple. The rest of us who don’t like being stiffed in games with leavers could enjoy this lovely option.

Here is a game of spades. Me and my opponent played so well that we are winning by 600 at the time someone rage quits. What is our elo gain for this feat? Combined we get less than half of what the quitter's teammate got
Even with the "fix" the person on the quitter's team would get more elo than both the people who were winning the game by a substantial amount.
