Forced to Play with Strangers

I've noticed lately that when a friend declines a rematch invite the game automatically opens to anyone joining. How do I stop this from happening?

In the table restrictions set "Restrict to Group" to "My Friends".

That should at least keep randos out.

Is it possible when i want to start a game with 4 friends and 1-2 declines, that the game starts immediatly with the other 2-3 without waiting for a player #3-4?

Something similar to this used to be possible; it wouldn't start immediately, but the seat would remain empty but you could start with fewer players.

Unfortunately, like many good features and options on this site, they did away with it.

Now once even one player joins your table, you cannot change ANY of the settings, including player count. You'd need to cancel and start over.
