It looks like the progress bar IS working (and maybe your already know this), but it appears to be based on % of points the leading player has compared to points needed to win. So in a 5 pint match, of the meaning player is at 3, progress is 60%.

This obviously is an issue for quick 1 point games as they will always register at 0% until someone wins.

Not sure if pips remaining can be used in between points to allow for within point % changes that can help players in quick 1 point games. Not sure how dynamic completion % coding is in the BGA framework.
I also thought that it is working already because I could resign in some Arena games - but that is not true. In Arena games (which are 1 point) the progress bar stays at 0% at some games and in others it advances to 52%. And with these numbers I mean the situation before the last bear-off, i.e. when the game is 99% finished. So the progress bar is not yet correct - but this will be a relatively easy bug to fix and will be done soon, I believe.

I just had a Arena game where the progress bar was at 52%. If it were as you described it would have stayed at 0% because the leading player had 0% of the points needed. Since the progress bar did work for the old backgammon version and bidulpik is the same programmer of both versions he will surely manage to repair this issue. The progress bar must include informations about *both* the match score *and* the pip count of the current game.

Interesting, thanks for the extra information.

I've only been playing 5 point matches recently, and I've only seen 0, 20, 40, 60, 80% match completion states. And every time I've seen someone complain and I've checked their 1 pt match they are at 0%, but apparently I didn't collect enough data points. ;)

Thank you, I did not know that the progress bar seems to work as it should for 5point matches.

Looks like the implementation tries to include pip count in some rare cases. Since 1 point matches (Arena,...) are still the majority here the current state is clearly not as it should.
