different dice in the game

Sometimes you get 4 different dice. What is the purpose of these 4 different dice in the game? You can only play with the 2 middle dice. Apparently there are several players who don't know either.

If you check the bug reports, it looks like this has been reported multiple times. You can add your instances to the report (table and game #s) to help the developer figure out a fix.

I'm the meantime, if I'm understanding the bug reports correctly, it looks like a page refresh or two usually fixes it, and if not, it seems like the middle 2 dice are your actual dice and it doesn't affect game play in any other way.
