Realtime only

Post by AxeCrazy »

I am developing a small multiplayer game which needs te be played real time only.
Is there a way to give this?
I see there is a section recommended realtime.
But can’t find an option to give real-time only.

Or didn’t I look good enough 😀

Greetings

It is possible. I forget if you have to request admin support for it, or if there is some way to set it in gameinfos.inc.php.

However, I want to warn ahead of time: Players are almost GUARANTEED to request turn-based mode and complain about this. The publisher needs to be aware of this. I seem to remember Just One was like this for a while, real-time only, and players were really unhappy. Finally, they enabled turn-based play as well.

Of course depending on the concept of the game, some concession or adaptation might need made to support turn-based play.

As a developer of Just One I can confirm that :)

For disabling turn-based you would need to ask an admin, yes.

I have developed Word Traveler (https://boardgamearena.com/gamepanel?game=wordtraveler) and players were very unhappy about the removal of turn-based mode  As a result, player numbers have gone down tremendously.

For Tiny Turbo Cars (https://boardgamearena.com/gamepanel?game=tinyturbocars), which is a real-time only game, the editor invented a turn-based varient.
