I can't agree enough, I am tired of getting 4 milk, 4 wheat and no refined goods in my last turn because of this

Yes!
Every game with complicated turns should have undo.

This is a great summary about adding an undo function on BGA written by a dev that I can't improve upon:

Undo needs to be implemented individually for every game. It's not a box you check to just make it happen. Furthermore, undo is tricky to implement correctly and very bug prone. As such, it's often avoided by game developers.
Leard wrote: 18 December 2023, 14:27Either commit to allowing rectons to be made, or ban them over the entire site unless a game specifically allows for it in the rules.
Wish granted?
Official BGA policy states that undo should be avoided in games.
"As a rule of thumb, on BGA we advise you to not undo moves. Undo are painful for opponents, in real world and online. Some players may also use Undo to 'test' situations while they should just think instead. In many cases, proposing an 'Undo' means also adding an extra step, which is not good for the game interface."

Leard wrote: 18 December 2023, 14:27Since BGA seems to be going to allowing them, why doesn't this game have one?
In summary:
1) Undo isn't encouraged
2) And it's not trivial to implement

I developed Gaia Project and got a similar request. I don't want to volunteer a dozen hours to implement a feature that I don't feel is needed and may introduce tons of bugs.

Yes, I totally agree that this game needs UNDO function, please-please-please, especially in solo mode I'm sure it's easy to implement

Volunteering is great; demanding is demeaning

We're all in agreement that it would be great to have. Unfortunately, you're mistaken about it being "easy to implement," even in solo mode. In fact, solo mode has almost no bearing on the situation because undo is typically only available during a single player's turn.

The question is who wants to volunteer time to implement it, fix the associated bugs, and keep it working. If you're volunteering, that's terrific! If you're asking someone else to do it for you, that's less reasonable.

You maybe skipped the other posts, but it's less a matter of finding people VOTING for the feature and more an issue of finding people VOLUNTEERING to add it.

No one is voting against a new, free feature. But no one is volunteering to add it, either. Voting for someone else to do it for you isn't entirely reasonable.

You can throw your vote away there: https://boardgamearena.com/bug?id=13426

My opinion as the current not-so-active maintainer: a real undo is not going to happen anytime soon for Clans of Caledonia. It's too much work for very little gain, every action must be confirmed already. But we can try to improve the player experience in other ways. For instance I'm thinking of warning players when they trigger a building bonus without being able to use it (either no gold or already a contract).

So be explicit about how you messed up and what was misleading.

An example where an undo won't help: if you click sell instead of buy and confirmed the exchange, I don't see how making a "Confirm Turn" would have made any difference, it's the same number of clicks.
