Can I invite a specific person?

I'm totally new to this fantastic online game resource, so please excuse my ignorance re this question
(and I tied searching the forum but couldn't find a thread which specifically addressed this)...
Is there a way to invite and start a game with a specific person?
I'd like to teach a family member at a remote location how to play Jaipur and figured this is a great way to do so.
Do we have to do this the 'brute force' way - i.e. we both log on, one of us starts a Jaipur table, and the other
attempts to join before someone else does? I'm hoping that we wouldn't have to resort to this,
and that there's an invitation feature that facilitates convenience and etiquette.

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi, welcome to bga.

When you open a new table you got a white space for text under the players names. It says 'save a spot for', iirc. There you can write the name of the person you want to play the game with and the spot on your table is then reserved for that player.

So on a two player table like on jaipur nobody else can join. On bigger tables prep people can still join, but only till the table is filled to one less than the maximum.
