Soo... I need an advice! I was made aware of a person under "top ranked players", in my favorite game here, who has 40 out of 40 wins against a smurf or a friend who helped him farm elo. The games are clear as day Kingmaking (in a ** game). The person who made me aware of it reported him after, just in case, reconfirming with me, and so did I.
That was 1-2 weeks ago.
No reaction whatsoever.
Rules declare I cannot out that person in forum by naming, which would be fine, BUT that means I cannot post any of those 40(!) games for more confirmation by the community that its the most clear cheating (if the mods, that need to process the reports, have any doubts, and just do not know the rules to the game (since bga has a ton of games...)).

... So I thought, surely, the admins/mods, and authors of those rules, had that obvious case thought through and have a way to do it by the book (instead of starting a ..* storm in the game sub forum, again)

Does this even work? Normally, winning a game against the same person increases your ELO, but decreases theirs so the gap becomes higher and higher up to the point you no longer gain ELO from them.

And BGA said they intended to start reducing the Elo gain further on subsequent wins. I find it very hard to believe winning just 40 games against a dummy account would have enough effect to push you to the top of one of the more competitive games.

The admins definitely do care about this and they do act on clear evidence (and its absurd to suggest this sort of thing needs specialist knowledge of the game to identify). The only issue I have seen is that punishment or subsequent action is not transparent. Though the tone of the OP might give concerns this is not a genuine issue.

Some people just like to request a rematch, especially if they think their game had been fun, regardless of winning or losing.

I don't think 40 wins against a less competitive-minded player is a violation of rules.

Even if it is, does it matter if you aren't playing against them? Rankings are just an arbitrary number, just enjoy the games you are playing

It's absurd there is systematically no reaction or consequences. This is just the last instance of 5 super blatant and relevant ones. (they DO sometimes/rarely act though, to be fair)

Also since you quoted Leander Quest's concern, Ill answer that trivial one: you play the smurf, collect elo with smurf to actual play level, and you play against the smurf again. Thought that is basic enough to not have been needing spelling it out..

yeah I see how one might think that. But all the issues voiced here, would not be if I just could post the games !!

So more information: they are at the same skill level (and high elo level, when it started), and play very differently against other opponents.
Also to reiterate: It is clear watching the game that one of them tries to lose. (4 ways to win in that game. And player collecting elo goes for 1 strategy ignoring all risks. player helping him win, doesnt force his own win when he could and ACTIVELY does not block elo-collector, even if that is the only move to not lose on the next turn.)

I looked into the reports you have filed.
The case you reported was reported quite a while ago, in January in fact, not 1-2 weeks ago. The player was moderated at the time and their ELO was reset to 100, as was the player they were playing with often. Both were warned about ELO farming. They have not continued to play against each other since being reprimanded and neither account has been reported again since.

It is quite unfair to the volunteer moderators and to the players you are accusing for you to post such accusations in the Forums citing misinformation and claiming a lack of reaction.

This entire post makes it very evident that you are aware that such concerns should not be brought up in the Forums at all, but you are choosing to do so by hinting very strongly at what you mean to convey and the players you wish to condemn publicly. This is very poor form. In the future, posts of this nature will be locked and you will be moderated. Please use the official channels for your moderation concerns. As evidenced here by the players you reported being punished at the time, the moderators are doing their jobs very well. If you have any additional concerns, you can file new moderation reports citing more recent misconduct.

Additionally, please respect that BGA is a family-friendly platform. That means that you should not only stop short of actually typing the curse word you are inferring, but to not infer it at all. Please choose language appropriate for children and sensitive players.
