Absolutely love this series, thanks for the videos. I'm not a particularly experienced Azul player but it's fascinating to hear an analysis of all the strategy.

Minor suggestion after watching the last video: you might want to improve your txt file for tile tracking by using a simple google spreadsheet? You could implement a checksum column. That would also fix the column alignment when tiles go into single digit counts :D

What fascinates me about Arena Azul, at least at lower ELO, is how many people blitz out all their moves without a second's thought. I see it in your games and I see it in my own. I can sense the impatience radiating from them when I spend 30 seconds on a move.

Imagine playing a chess game with an hour on your clock, you make all your moves instantly, and you get wiped out in 25 moves with 55 minutes remaining. Same thing.

Yeah, some people just have the itch to play fast for some reason. It happens to me too if I'm tilted when I'm playing :)

In other news, I just recorded the first Game Review episode. A break from the Beginner to Master series. Let me know what you think!

I enjoyed this a lot and would love to see more Game Reviews, although I would personally prefer it if you focused almost exclusively from the point of view of one side rather than talking at length from both player's perspective.

Yeah I think this is a necessity if I want to be able to do more than one review per video. Maybe passing comments here and there on the opponent play but not in-depth.

Starting a new series, Study Sessions, where we analyze games from the elite players and see what we can learn. The first episode features a game between Sapperlot and CN_Azul (who I'm 99% sure is QueenDong). Let me know what you think.
