Concede threshold

Post by l TheDirtyV l »

Is there a way for different games to have different concede thresholds? Innovation is notorious for snowballing and it's a slog to get to 50% sometimes. I just played a game that was effectively over by turn 4 or 5. Dominated in all symbols with no draw/meld effects that would get me anywhere. Opponent had splay starting and I was done for, but they didn't have any points so I couldn't concede.

I don't believe this threshold is configurable.

No, but different games can evaluate the progression percentage differently. 50% does not necessarily mean 50% of the turns or 50% of the cards. I believe some game(s) already set the progression to 50% since the beginning (just as some games are buggy and stay at 0% the whole game long).

I had a game where I was on level 7 due to Mathematics, and my opponent was on Level 3.
At the time it felt like the most convincing lead I could possibly have.... I still lost.

I took a step back and realized that I was pretty frustrated when I wrote this post. Innovation is a chaotic game and anything can happen so I suppose no one is really out. I played a nice person who offered me words of encouragement in that regard a few moments ago, right before he utterly dominated me from turn 2 with no recourse. I firmly stand by my original post lol.

No, you're more right with the chaotic nature of the game comment. It's not chess.

Maybe 50% of games seem to be extremely one-sided with early points scoring and the game goes the way of the early leader. It's worth learning what those cards are and how they work. You're now better prepared, and ready to take on the never say die attitude. Fight your opponent for every point all the way to 6 points. Whether you win or not, you won't notice the game progression %. I've played quite a few of the different games here on BGA, I'm still convinced that this is the best game on here.
