Did you meet unfair players ? I did 2 times in a row, and it drove me nuts

First thing, you also meet extremely fair players, even beyond what I qualify fair, but not so often. And when I do, i have great pleasure to mention them : *

But yesterday, I met desperately unfair players, two times in a row, and I want to report it.

First experience : *
This was the last move of the game, I was just about to play the winning card, and one of the opponent banned me when i was something like 22 or 23 seconds over time.
Not only is this unfair (though legal by the rules), but it cost me a karma penalty !!!!

Second experience : *
The game was just in its first turns when I made a move that apparently made one player unpleased (I believe I put a house where he intended to put one himself). His reaction, because he thought he had lost any chance to win, was to leave the game immediately, while accusing me of spoiling the game !!! Imagine the hell on earth it would be here if everybody acted the same

Such kind of behaviors are not possible to refrain with present moderation tools.

So I am about to build a track file of those behaviors that I am going to make available to anybody here with names and other relevant information.

Why are red thumbs not suitable? Yes, they don't avoid those players in tournaments, but neither of the games you mention was in a tournament. And if you dislike that you can still meet such players in tournaments, then you have the option to avoid tournament play.

Additionally, you cannot "report" someone who uses rules you don't like (namely, expelling if you exceed your time). You mention it's legal, so you understand how it works, and while I also don't necessarily expel people at the first chance I have, I accept that it's within rules of the game (on BGA) to do so. Stick within your time limits, choose longer ones, or accept that you may be booted at the discretion of your opponent if you go over. Be grateful that booting is something your opponent can choose, as there are those who argue it should be automatic. Or would you then blame the platform for being "unfair" to you?

In the other case, while quitting a game because you're unhappy with the setup is poor behaviour, but again the forums are not the place to "report" it, as you say. Give that player a red thumb and move on.

So you broke the rules and want to report someone else for it? You agreed to the rule of +9s per turn and did not abide by it. Yes, I agree being 20s over the turn time when turns are already 9s or less doesn't warrant a booting, but this sort of abuse is easy to stop: Don't exceed your time bank. Play at medium speed, problem solved.

(I am one of the people who would prefer a system that automatically boots people for exceeding their time, if for no other reason than to stop these threads being posted when people don't follow the turn limits. It shouldn't fall on users to enforce the rules of the table.)

That is unfortunate, but at least the game had not lasted long so you should be able to start a new one. I'm sure such a player will quickly find it difficult to find tables when multiple players Red Thumb them for their poor sportsmanship.

And what kind of due diligence will you spend making sure your file is accurate? "I played a game with Hagardunor and they quit round one because he didn't like the initial setup". Is that sufficient to add your name to the list? This is why such posts are redacted by the mods.
What do you suggest people do with this file? Before starting a game double checking that no names on the list are at the table?

Have I met unfair players? Yes, I've met players who insulted/threatened me (not always to a reportable level) for expelling (them or someone else), sometimes even waving the argument that I had taken more time than them (in a turn-based table, and I had never gone into red), or that I had used a time joker (that's what you're supposed to do when you know or suspect you won't be able to play in time).

Well understood, although for the first one it was a positive comment for a very ,very fair behavior (so much beyond those I regularly witness here)

It sounds like what you want to do is get together a private club of people to inform on supposedly "unfair" players--which it has become clear, includes people implementing approved site mechanisms like expelling someone--to create a shared blacklist like the old Hollywood blacklist from the 1940s and 50s. I'm not sure why you'd think BGA would be ok with you opening promoting this idea (although you can do whatever you want through DMs).

Crying because many people here, seemingly including you , constantly think of bad behavior prosecution (which of course is necessary), but does not care a * promoting fair behavior. Je ne dénonce pas les "mécanismes de modération approuvés", mais ceux qui en abusent. Et qui, en en abusant, dénaturent l'esprit du jeu.

Je ne désapprouve pas l'utilisation de toutes les "armes" à disposition pour gagner une compétition, y compris le chronomètre bien que je ne trouve pas ça très sportif. Mais c'est la règle, et on sait qu'il faut s'y attendre (encore que, pratiquer le jeu comme ça pour gagner des médailles en chocolat.... bref passons).

Par contre, je trouve ça carrément ridicule et frisant le dérangement psychiatrique quand il s'agit d'une partie "hors compétition". Il y a l'arène pour ceux qui voudraient se défouler, et qu'ils s'en abstiennent dans les parties ordinaires. Au passage il s'agit toujours de mecs, je n'ai jamais vu une compétitrice se comporter de cette manière.
