No, I didn't. It was a sincere question regarding a subject about which I was uncertain of correctness. As I am me, and you are not me, I have a better apprehension of my own intent. I dug up this thread rather than creating my own, thinking it better to not be repetitive (if so).

I don't find this sequence perfectly clear. You have directly informed me that it would be reportable (i.e., a rules violation) if "abusive". If it were to rise to abusive according to RobertBr, how would one go about reporting it using the tree? I still don't see a valid mechanism in the official system short of filing a "bug" (highly dubious) and referencing it by URL, which still makes me think it isn't reportable.
RobertBr wrote: you have no reason to believe it is a rules violation
Sure I do: it's unsportsmanlike behavior with clear intent to annoy and/or trick someone into losing. Given things like insults, multi-accounting ELO, and inappropriately naming tables (none of which can directly result in ranked game losses) are rules violations, it seemed plausible to me that this would be too. It also seemed plausible to me that not every rules violation was implemented in the tree, or that there was a direct or indirect means to appropriately report it that I was overlooking. I searched for the rules first and came up short, so I asked.
RobertBr wrote: it would be a very silly rule if it did exist
We disagree. I can accept your opinion without asserting it to be objectively silly, though.

I'm a big fan of BGA, support it with a membership, gift memberships to others, and enjoy playing its games. I don't enjoy the frequent unsportsmanlike behavior I encounter on arena, or rude and inappropriately judgmental interactions like this when clarifying my options.

I'm pretty sure RobertBr meant "abusive" as in insulting or threatening in the chat, not as in using the option when it's not "fair".

That's possible. I see no apparently necessary "about it" qualification in that case, though, as insults and threats are issues unto themselves.

A few things that might hopefully be useful to others:

- I did locate the "rules" in the Terms of Service, subsection Terms of Use
- I also located the FAQ just above in the forum header
- Both indicate to me that this behavior is against the spirit of the site
- Given the response I received here to my question, I sought out the suggestions side of the forum and found this post on top that included the claim, "This [forum] is not the place to get things into the queue for even being considered for implementation"
- That led me to check out bugs, which it turns out are also inclusive of suggestions, so I filed this as a specific suggestion over there after checking to see if any others had (search is broken for me but I page-searched among 10+ votes)

If you found this thread and agree that imminent-losing abandonment proposals should be addressed, I encourage you to upvote the suggestion. In the future I'll be checking the ToU/FAQ/bugs triad before even considering the forums and suggest the same. Cheers.
