Hello everyone!
I've been playing Tichu since 2011, online and table, also in competitions back in the past. I've been very happy that BGA has recently introduced this game in the platform. After some games played, I see that the community is not so experienced with the game, but I'm sure there's room for improvement.
I admit that the gaming experience of Tichu in BGA is very good, although I spotted some minor details that I want to highlight, for the BGA development team to take into account and fix over the next update sessions. The details/improvements I want to point are as follows:
1. Acknowledge after trading: After the trading of cards has been completed, I have noticed that the cards are directly set into the player's hand. Therefore, the player cannot know what card has been given by each other player. There is the history track record of the game which states which number has been given, but not the colour. My advice is that before the cards are set into the player's hand, the player must press an "Acknowledge" button, so that he/she knows exactly what card they have received by any other player.
2. Reset of trading after a player declares Tichu: If a player declares Tichu during the trading phase, the trading phase must be reset, so that each player takes that information into account. This is stated by the rules of the game, but it is not yet implemented in BGA.
3. Rearrangement of cards in a player's hand: The cards in a player's hand are set in a ancending order. A player shall have the feature to rearrange the cards in his/her hand. This is not a major part of the game, but definitely will improve a player's gaming experience.
4. Hide the history track: What extinguishes a very good player from a good player? His/her ability to remember and keep track of the cards played. If the history track is always available, this eliminates that feature. My suggestion is that the history track may or may not be available to the players, as a setting at the table before the game begins. I believe that a hidden history track should be a mandatory setting in competitive tables or high-level player tables.
I hope those features are fixed and implemented soon over the following updates!
