Tournament games: victory to the player with the most time left doesn't make sense

Post by JayjayBerger »

So I got a message saying that a tournament turn-by-turn game hadn't been finished before the next game had to start, and that therefore the player with more time left was declared winner... This is such a random and unfair rule! How difficult is it, if they really have to abort the game before it's finished, to just count the points as if there were no tile left and to declare the player with the most points the winner???

In a tournament there is a fixed time for each player.

If this is e.g. 3 days per player, the tournament game will automatically end after 6 days. Then exactly one player will be over their allowed 3 days and the other is still within their 3 days.

Thus it is fair to let the player win that has positive time left because the other player is in red and deserves to lose on time.
