Arena Points doesen´t make sense

Hi,
can anyone explain me how the +/- Points in Arena are calculated.
I was at 1.700 Arena Points and loose against someone with 1.529 AP. He get +29 me -29
Then I win against a 100 elo Bronze Player and get +11 and for a win against a 215 Elo (1.445 AP) I only get +8?

Arena and elo are two totally unrelated things, except that they use the same formula.

As noted site "elo" (usually 0-800) and "arena rating" (usually 1000-2000) are two separate scores that have no direct relation to each other. But they do both individually use an elo-like formula, which you can probably find more details on somewhere. The reason they typically have different ranges is because of differences in how BGA sets up that formula, in particular the initial values.

But the aspect of that formula that you seem to be referencing is that you'll drop a lot of points if you lose against someone with a lower rating than you, but you'll only gain a small amount of points if you win against someone with a lower rating. The reasoning behind such a formula is that if you lose against someone with a lower rating than yours, that's a sign your score is too high and/or their score is too low, so the formula makes a larger correction. If you win against someone of a much lower rating, that was the expected result, so both your scores were probably about right relative to each other, and the scores only go up/down by a little bit.

If you are wondering why you got less point when you won elite player than when you won bronze player,
Here's possible explanation:

Arena point is hidden yet exist when they are in below elite level.
So probably 100 elo bronze player you won had hidden arena point higher than 1445.

I think it's totally plausible since arena point initially starts on 1500.
Therefore bronze player who didn't played much will have arena point around 1500.
