Prnalty when a game dragsss on on purpose

Post by MWald »

I...indeed(!)...Will leave a game that has been purposely prolonged by a rePeatedly non-responsive or lazy(on purpose) player!

Can you not incorporate an appeals funtion for penalties??? This gets old Real Fast when players do...not...take... their games seriously ... or have life distractions.
Also ... they do not have the option of cancelling a game due to life emergencies etc.

Maybe just ask all players involved their opinions before dictating a penalty.(!)

Also
if "thousands upon thousands" of games are played per day (statement your -latest- "warning to your customers" community post).... Then why on a regular basis ... do I /we see only minimal amount of players online (bottom of forums page) on a daily &.... regular basis..... At times barely 100 players online.

Signed,
.............. a paying customer.!

I don't get it.

Why leave the game?
Why not expelling the other player once he is out of time ?

If your opponent is out of time you can expel them. If they are not out of time then they are within the rules by using up all of their time bank to go get a drink if they want. Play at faster tables with shorter turn times / time banks.

The options to leave a game due to an emergency are: send a message to the other player (My kid is crying, I need to go) and "Propose to abandon the game collectively", or leave the game and take a small Karma hit that you'll recover by completing games.

Despite your willingness to abandon games that are going slower than you'd like, you still have an 80% karma rating and the strictest tables setting is 75% or higher, so you're not getting penalized in any way here.

Simple. The ...on purpose...part. The wait until their timer hits 10 seconds....then play their turn. Then play a few tirns to reset the clock to full timing.......then do the same again....!

There is a penalty, Tho! So i disagree.
Just expel those who quit early (not including conceeding) to a 1 hour ban ...or 30mins, then next time 1 hour.
And ..."than I like" ...where did you get this from?
I am stating Long wait times-as mentioned above. Slower players are generally beginners ... soooo my choice to play with, or decline.

Maybe see the success of * (exact spelling / name) in their Tables game play option. They ban absent players for 5 mins (games are faster than your / our games) and they have many.more paying customers.

*Moderator edit: please do not specifically name other gaming platforms

When you start a game, you are agreeing to the time limit settings. Each player is completely within their rights to use as much of their time as they desire.

You aren't playing on fast speed. Your last games are all at normal speed. Why aren't you using the tools available?

I play a variety of games here, and I don't see a whole lot of what you're talking about - that is, people stalling until the last possible second, then playing their actions to avoid penalties. That said, part of the reason for the generous time limits is to give people time to THINK about their actions, rather than just impulsively doing the first thing that comes to mind. This is good play, not abuse. You don't know what people are thinking, you're making assumptions on the reasoning behind the way they play.

If you're not exaggerating the problem, then I would suggest that there's something else going on that you're not including, or other details you're leaving out. or example, are you playing the same few people, and the problem is with a small number of people, not a systemic issue?

But if this continues and bothers you to this degree, you can always thumbs-down people after the game ends, and greatly reduce the chances of them getting paired with/against you again. After you do this a few times, you should stop running into people who do this.

Making use of the time you are alloted is not abuse.
